At 1727 hours, units were dispatched for an odor of smoke in the Family Dollar building on Greensboro Road. Engine 604 arrived and reported smoke in the building. Officer 619(Davis) established “Greensboro Road Command.”
The Crew from Engine 604 was assigned investigations, while the crew from Engine 703 was assigned to check the roof.
Crews found the cause to be in the HVAC system, and the store was closed for the evening so that store management could have someone check the HVAC system.
Units cleared the call at 1856 hours.
