At 07:12 hours units were alerted for an MVC involving a tractor trailer with confirmed entrapment. Due to the time of day Officer 619 requested the next due engine and rescue to assist. Rescue 600 made the response and arrived on location to find 1 tractor trailer rolled over with entrapment and a log impaled into the passenger compartment pinning the driver. Officer 619 established Greensboro Road Command and advised Caroline to have a tractor trailer wrecker and State Highway respond for assistance with extrication. Command also requested aviation. The crew from Engine 405 and Rescue 700 assisted with extrication of the patient. While E-603 handled the landing zone. Due to the severity of the call and the impaled log all crews worked extensively to stabilize the load and the truck. Units operated for approximately 2 hours before placing the situation under control and returning.
