RIT Training - Station 600
Tuesday, February 6, 2007

Tonight, members of Greensboro, Goldsboro, and Denton Volunteer Fire Companies were part of a training exercise in which firefighters became trapped and the RIT team was deployed to rescue them. While firefighters were doing a simulated search a piece of chain link fence with mutiple wires hanging from it (simulating a false ceiling with duct work) was placed on top of them causing them to be trapped. Firefighters then had to call out MAYDAY following the new county policy. Once the RIT team located the trapped firefighters, they placed them on air and freed them from the entanglement. Firefighters also reviewed building construction and fire behavior. The Chief and members of "The City" would like to thank the members of Denton and Goldsboro for attending the training. Deputy Chief Jim Bambary Conducted this drill with assistance from Captain Davis and Lieutenant Gowen
